Billet pistons for racing prototype engines

These pistons are hand made, one by one, with special aluminum alloy, to fit special or prototype engines.

The low silicon alloy, treated in our in-house heat treating facility, is annealed, then aged at a higher temperature to stabilize the thermal expansion of the alloy and improve it's mechanical strenghtness.

Making pistons from billet give us the advantage to build piston for virtually any engine.

The billet has the same resistance of the forged blanks, because the internal grain flow in the pistons have the same main direction in both cases. The reason why nobody produces the pistons directly from billet is the large increase in machining costs.

In designing piston, we can use the piston webs as a guide for the con-rod, thus we can remove big end washer, improving lubrication and performance. Rings are available in 0,8 - 1 - 1,5 - 2 mm thick (we are now testing 0,6 mm piston rings and Napier rings in 4 stroke pistons). Piston wrist pin are OEM stye  (while we are looking for special light alloy ones...)

Pistons can be made, so far, only for 2 stroke engines, with special dimensions only. We don't build pistons as OEM spare fitting.
